DescriptionI don't remember how I stumbled across Ethan's work (it was either on Instagram or here on CAF), but once I saw his amazing commissions - particularly his multi-character group shots - I knew I had to get on his list.It just so happened that Ethan opened up for commissions not long after, so I immediately placed an order. I was hesitant at first and ordered a modest 9x12 two-character commission, but after seeing some of the gorgeous works he was producing, I reached out and upgraded to a full 11x17 commission. I had been admiring his wonderful renditions of the X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men and Outback X-Men teams for some time, so I requested his take on the X-Men: The Animated Series cast. And boy did he deliver! When he sent me pics of the final product, I was beyond ecstatic; it was everything this 80s baby (and 90s kid) could ask for - and then some! I also want to mention that Ethan was super chill and excellent with communication throughout this entire process. Can't wait to commission him again in the future! Social/Sharing |

Young broke his own rule in featuring Wolverine first in these X-Men pieces. Maybe because Jubilee was the audience stand in and the key figure to introduce us to the world of the mutants. He gets all the personalities right and is a joyful celebration of the series.

Love your theory! Part of me also wonders if his decision to put her up front had something to do with a brief mention I made about being Asian American (like Ethan and Jubilee).
It's also hilarious that Jean Grey is dead center. She was so useless in this series, lol.

I liked that Storm always had to announce what she was using her powers for, i.e. "Wind!" "Rain!" so the audience won't think it's just a random tornado or rain saving the day. Somehow, Jean needed to do that too so it doesn't seem like the bad guys were just suffering from a random migraine.

Awesome commission. This is an iconic vision on the most eXciting animated series the X-Men ever had. I miss the 90s. Congrats!
