This cute blue pencil piece is perfect to add to my growing collection of sketches. I have a fondness for the unfinished pieces and sketches which tend to be a part of every artist's practice work. Especially when it comes to talented animators, these sketches can show so much dynamic detail in so few lines that they fascinate me for hours. Bruce Timm is certainly one of my favorite artists of animation for this skill of his particularly. He's also amazing at pin-up art, and his sketch of Poison Ivy here shows some of that cheesecake flair. On the reverse side of this 8.5" x 11" piece of typing paper (or something similar) is an action sketch of a female figure shooting a gun, which is labeled "Batgirl." The outfit and boots on this female figure are certainly Poison Ivy's, and the hair is more Ivy than Batgirl, but I don't recall Ivy using a gun much, if at all...mysterious sketch, but so well done, and the contrast of the two poses pleases me as well.

The art deco era pin up style used for these images speak to how the animated series first started with this more rounded sexy curvy look. This might have been done from that early 90's time period.

Great acquisition. I love Timm pencil work as well. This is a wonderful pose.
