DescriptionHere’s an interesting story. This is a poster concept from “Interview with the Vampire” by Paul Chadwick. But it was made… in the late 70s!Back then there was a first attempt to turn Anne Rice’s best-selling novel into a movie. Rice had Rutger Hauer in mind for the role of Lestat, but the studio wanted John Travolta instead. They hired a few artists to come up with poster-like concepts for the project, and Chadwick came up with this one. Of course that project never worked out, and the studio kept it on the shelf for almost 15 years. I had the chance to talk about this with Paul recently (today a pretty well known comic artist), and he told me he was still a student at the Art Center College of Design when he did the job and that this would be 1978-1979. Kind of interesting with the clouds forming the map of England in this. Claudia looks so scary with that unnatural doll like skin.
