DescriptionEnded up purchasing over 130 pages of a near complete Horror Gekiga Samurai story entitled "Spider Woman" from the 1960s by Yoshito Tsukimiya. I will post some other samples of pages under additional image. Lastly here is the sellers description as I think it was well done."Yoshito Tsukimiya (a.k.a. Ken Onijoji, Ippei Kitagawa, or Takashi Edo), born in 1927, is a manga artist with a long and prolific career. His activities have been consistently "underground" rather than "alternative," including rental manga and horror manga. His style often depicts an old, indigenous, grotesque world reminiscent of folk tales, and his realistic and brutal style has a unique appeal. Hiroshi Hirata, a leading figure in samurai gekiga, and Tsukimiya were close friends for a time, and Tsukimiya even worked as Hirata's assistant in the 1960s. Spider Woman is one of the titles in Tsukimiya's series, which was published by Tokyo Top-sha. Manga is not only for the entertainment. I believe that Manga is one of the strongest artistic expressions which can be reached by anyone's mind without any differences of religion, culture, race or language. Don't miss a chance to get the piece of Manga/Gekiga art in history!" Social/Sharing |

You can feel the wind shift bringing her decpitating ways towards the audience.

I will say, going through 130 pages of well done art done in a Japanese woodblock/calligraphy style really hammers in how much work each manga was for the artists. Every time I end up digging into one of these branches of the comic medium internationally it reminds me of the depth of history and individuals who used their talents to these mediums.

This is insane! So much great art, I'm pretty green, envywise.

These are fantastic. I have 2 of Tsukimiya pages and wish I could find more and that some of his comics were translated. They look so cool.
