Description

Mike Maihack started drawing Supergirl and Batgirl comic strips many years back (here's the first) and would draw a new one every once in a while as a holiday tradition. They're really fun and unapologetically upbeat takes on the two characters (that occasionally riffed on what was happening in the comics), and I definitely recommend checking them out if that sounds appealing.

For 2022, Mike continued with the watercolors that he did last year for SuperBatober. He drew some pretty amazing ones (some with edge to edge watercolors), but this was my favorite of the bunch. It features Batgirl in her Burnside outfit while Supergirl (in a not unusual move) has changed her costume to match. This is such a simple but cute image, and I especially love how Mike drew the Supergirl crest to fit within the Bat-logo.

I like the innocence of Supergirl at play to get used to this outfit by hanging onto Batgirl. Streaky in a bat costume floating like a bat for the Halloween season is a very nice bonus.

I love his pieces! I know he was selling these on Ebay but unfortuantly I didn't end up winning any. Congrats!

Thanks, and competition for these is fierce! While I'm glad that Mike's able to sell his art for higher prices, it does make it harder to pick them up when they become available.
