SuperBatober 2024 - Road (Mike Maihack)

For 2024, Mike Maihack continued with the watercolor sketches that he's done the past few years for SuperBatober (using the Inktober prompts), but it seemed like it might also be the last year he does SuperBatober, so I wanted to make sure I picked up something this year, especially after missing out last year (I've apparently been alternating years).

Even though Mike kept it simple(ish) this year, there were a handful that stood out, and I'm glad I was able to pick up two pieces. This one was maybe my second favorite piece from the whole month (after the Star Trek one) because of the Looney Tunes gag with Parasite chasing after Supergirl. As a kid who grew up watching Looney Tunes cartoons, I enjoyed seeing this homage to the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner shorts, and it has all the key elements, from the silly scientific names underneath to Kara's running legs and tongue out. The only thing that would put it over the top is an Acme/Lexcorp contraption that is doomed to backfire.
