Description

Manix is another artist I discovered through Next Comic Art, and his art is just so fun and unique, from his layouts to his use of color and how he draws people. In a first for me, I did an "artist's choice" commission for Manix because I wanted to let him create whatever strikes his fancy, and I knew it would turn out fantastic. I gave Jiggy some basic notes as far as what I'd like to see (trippy designs with fun Manix-styled people), then let Manix go to work. This was actually the second idea Manix came back with (the first was really fun but based on a character I wasn't as fond of), and here he went with something based on vintage science fiction designs. I only get some of the references, but I really love the trippy layout and fun use of colors here- pure Manix art through and through.

Mindblowingly cool Manix commission! Love this insane montage of sci-fi themes! You've got the muliple-eyed, octopus-shaped alien, a rocket ship sailing past Saturn, an upside-down robot in distress and a strange plant-like alien with eyes on the ends of its tendrills. What's not to like?
