Description
During my last trip to Las Vegas, I was able to pick up some comic art from one of the locals. It was my first parking lot pick up, even though it was pre-arranged prior to my visit. Interestingly enough after I requested it for purchase it ended up on a CAF feature a day or two prior to me picking it up. The collector was gracious enough to continue with the transaction either way and thankfully so because I now have a page from the Sgt. Fury series, which is something I was hoping to one day pick up. You know who you are and thank you for this piece. I placed the feature in the additional images to connect a bit more history to the peace.

This page has Combat Kelly on it, and he is taking heavy fire from a large enemy force. At this point you question whether, or not there is any hope for him and his men. Kelly takes the dive and checks into Mr. Fumble hands for the win, but all is not won as it is a mere skirmish in a long-drawn-out battle.

Pencils by Dick Ayers and Inks by Vince Colleta, this piece holds up solid for action and really tries to take you into the battle. The storytelling with artwork is top notch in the 6-panel layout. I think the second to last panel really drew me into the piece just as much as the weapons, flying bullets, and tanks.

Need to read more of both still myself. Loved reading this story. I have a few GI Combats and will need to read them sometime as well.

Yeah, man, nice battle page!  I like the back and forth perspectives as you move down the page - very nice storytelling, indeed.  Congrats!

Ayers there, over there
Art and words, see artwork over here
That the Yanks are coming
The Yanks are fighting
Panzers run running everywhere

So prepare, and package there
Send the work, send artwork over here
It'll be over, we're shipping over
And I won't come back till Colletta's, over here

So patriotic. I feel like I need a bald eagle on my shoulder.

Great War comics action page and really cool that the Nick Fury rip off, Combat Kelly, is also included as I never knew Marvel crossed them over!
