DescriptionThis is one of the rare pieces of artwork which I purchased on the basis of its very strong image - and in a double page spread to boot. The bonus is that it is a slam bang all-action Batman versus Bane page from Detective Comics and published almost a quarter of a century ago.I also like Mike Deodato Jr as a penciller. The inks (here, by Sean Parsons) also do justice to the pencils. Now who said I wasn't a DC person? PS: My apologies for the small scan which really does not do justice to the DPS. It looks really amazing in person. Social/Sharing |

Richly-inked, dynamic throw down! Interesting ruffled panel layout in the bottom section. Congrats!

Thanks so much, Nick! As mentioned, it is not a piece of artwork I would normally purchase but it spoke very powerfully from a visual standpoint to me.

The images have their roots in Neal Adams combat class, but the oversized musclebound parts and powered up presentation of this are late 90's Deodato. A Batman revenge issue versus Bane!

Many thanks, Marcus! It is, as I mentioned, a slam bang action page. Quite why it spoke to me is still a little bit of a mystery to me at the moment.

Bane TKO. I couldn't make it back up from that contortion. Love it.
