Description

First page from an upcoming four-part limited series helmed by James Tynion IV and artist Martin Simmonds that brings back the classic 1931 version of Dracula , as set forth by Bela Lugosi. I saw the pages that Martin Simmonds had done and was absolutely stunned (which its not hard to be when you look at his art). This page (I didn't know it was page one) kept crawling through my mind, much like flies on it. Renfield says "yum, yum."

Mixed media similar in style to Dave McKean and Miram Kim. The flies are on an overlay that is glued to the painted background. The panels are edged in white tape.

Three planes of reality with the alternating panels and then the flies over all of it! It definitely gets a reaction and creepy feeling out of the viewer as the flies make you believe that any of them can cross into our reality.
