DescriptionFrank Redondo does the interior art for the Robert Kanigher story "I Was Here Before!"Rock is the token American in a British and Canadian raid on Normandy and becomes the lone survivor of his landing craft when enemy fire hits it. He gets ashore and saves other British and Canadian troops bottled up on the beach. Hitler believes this costly raid proves the Allies won't return to Normandy for a full-scale invasion. The end finds Rock back in Normandy more than a year later for D-Day. An officer tells him that they are applying lessons learned from the "test-tube invasion" raid. Rock leads Easy Company onto Omaha Beach. Social/Sharing |

Instant classic Kubert cover with Rock's will to live! Killer design with Sgt. Rock with nowhere to go but forward toward certain death that has befallen everyone else! No time for bravery or patriotism, this is only about survival! Kubert mines the raw emotions this elicits from the audience with great effect.
