DescriptionOriginal cover art from Johnny Bruck (March 22, 1921 - October 6, 1995). Gouache on illustration board. Roughly 14x20 in B3 format size.Cover of German Atlan episode 690, published in 1984 under the title 'Der Strahlende' (The Radiant One). Atlan da Gonozal is a main character of the Perry Rhodan series. Given the character was very popular, it was given its own series within the Perry Rhodan universe starting 1969. It was quite successful and the last edition #850 was published in 1988. Johnny Bruck painted the majority of covers. Social/Sharing |

A particularly special piece with the swirling patterns in the backgrounds adding another layer of pattern that probably won't get picked up when they photograph it for publication. In particular the left side of the yellow orb seems like Bruck was adding more to it for his own amusement.
