Description

When I first saw this on CAF I remember commenting that I would've jumped on the chance to pick it up. Well, when it showed up on Comic Art LIVE some time later, I did just that. I've picked up a number of the Modern Master series by TwoMorrows Publishing, and I've really liked all of them. The clincher being with Volume 2 is that it also included a companion & lengthy DVD of Pérez, using the same art. For the cover, I was particularly enamored with the characters George drew for this series, choosing the almost buddy-flick team of Andra Radiant & Lindy Karsten from CrossGen's Solus. They had such a cool dynamic, great chemistry, and it's probably the first time I saw the buddy-flick trope successfully reversed—way to go Barbara & George!

I'm sitting next to my bookcase right now with a shelf filled with TwoMorrows books including many of the Modern Masters volumes. This is a great pickup from a series of books that I wish had continued.

Really cool from the Crossgen era of his career! Perez was far from retirement and he was already getting the legendary status by fans and contemporaries back in the early 2000's. And he still had JLA -Avengers to come!

Love the Modern Masters series. George Perez deserved his inclusion in the series. Love this cover of Andra Radiant & Lindy Karsten from CrossGen's Solus. Beautifully drawn and masterfully inked!
