Description

I have had this daily for a while now, but finally framed it. I also was recently made aware that a panel was used on the inside flap of the Rip Kirby Volume 4 (See added pics)

The crosshatching used is very definitive for the strip and series as a whole.  Raymond's fine skills are creating depth that comes through even when published in the newsprint.

There is some serious ink work going on here.  The tonal quality approximated with the crosshatching is truly sublime.

Raymond was on fire this day. Nearly breathtaking work with the inks here. His bizarre and untimely death was a staggering loss to the art world. Who knows what else he might've accomplished?

Couldn't agree with you more Mark! It woould have been interesting to see where he would have gone next in the evolution of his artwork!
