Nice early Reis piece, fantastic angles and great character splash
I've been admiring Ivan's work on the recent run of Detective with Ram V writing, and this page shows all the promise of great things to come from a promising young artist. Very nice!
Really great page! Awesome splashy Black Cat panel! And how fun to be able to share it with Ivan last year. Did he remember drawing it? I find that prolific artists with long careers don't always remember stuff they did years ago.
Yeah, he remembered, but it clearly had been a long time since he saw the comics let alone any art from the series! I had him sign both the book and the art. "Wow, a LONG time ago" he said :) Thanks, Paul and all, for the comments!
BLF a treasurehouse of taste, sweet get man!
Once upon a time, Reis opened up the door
She would steal with Hardy skills till she couldn't steal no more
But the potions Voodoo made touched her features up and low, oh
And they grew out in the way that we'd never seen before
Supernature, supernature
Supernature, supernature
Supernature, supernature
Supernature, supernature
They were angry monster men 'cause Ghost Rider's way of life
And they take their sweet revenge, as they Werewolfed through by Night
Rode a hundred miles or more, you can fear the people cry
But there's nothin' you can do even ghosts have joined their ride
Supernature, supernature
Supernature, supernature
Supernature, supernature
It's hard to believe that Reis has been a pro artist for around a quarter of a century already. Wow! But unlike many artists, he showed almost immediately that he was far more advanced as an artist than most other artists just breaking in. This is a great example of that. Thanks for sharing your story, by the way, I love that you were able to show Ivan this blast from his very long ago past. It's wonderful!
Nice. Best Black Cat page from the series featuring the new costume with the custom dog...ah... cat collar.
Oh Jericho you dog, comin' up with that cat collar. You weren't wrong - she's looking mighty fine. Or feline. Take your pick :) Thanks for the add, John!
Black Cat looks so good here! Nice add!!!
