DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Collector's Edition was a VHS collection released by Columbia House on a subscription basis in the 1990s featuring all the episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation in production order (w/exception of Unification II, which was produced before the first part). Episodes were typically collected two per tape and tapes were sent to subscribers every four to six weeks. A total of 87 tapes were released, each cardboard clamshell VHS case featured the same art on the cover, showing the U.S.S. Enterprise soaring above the main cast, a large planet at lower right. This art was placed on a gray grid bkg. for VHS release. Art is by Jeff Wack, an internationally acclaimed artist and commercial illustrator whose work has appeared on the pages of national/international magazines, movie posters as well as VHS/DVD/CD covers. Offered here is 19.75x29-7/8" heavy illustration board w/mixed media original art for main image area seen on front of the VHS clamshells (w/o grid design element). Image shows Jonathan Frakes as Commander William T. Riker and Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard (w/Starfleet insignia visible) at left foreground w/remainder of cast seen smaller at right. Actors/characters include - Gates McFadden as Dr. Beverly Crusher, Denise Crosby as Lt. Tasha Yar, LeVar Burton and Lt. Geordi La Forge, Brent Spiner as Lt. Commander Data, Mirina Sirtis as Lt. Commander Deanna Troi, Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher and Michael Dorn as Lt. Worf. Art has paper and heavy black cardboard overlays attached at top. Some scattered edge wear to lower left corner of illustration board, but art remains clean and Exc. A must-have for any Next Generation fan.
