Description

I got this sketch of Hawkman by Bo as a reward in his Kickstarter campaign for his Fantastic Adventure book.

This rendition represents (for me) the classic, defining look of the Silver Age Hawkman, from his lean physique (vs. the hulking figure he became in the late 90's and 2000's), the fit of his mask, the more simple belt and chest straps (no extraneous details like belt pouches) and the feathered wings. For anyone familiar with the Hawks, it's clearly Katar Hol (not Carter or an amalgamation of the two) under the Hawk mask.

It definitely has a bit of Joe Kubert and Murphy Anderson! It's has a roughness because Hampton erased nothing and it is worked until he finds the right line to show muscle and graceful soaring in Hawkman.
