Description"I suggest staying down, bub."Closing out 2023 with some Wolvie pieces, celebrating Logan’s 50th anniversary coming up as we turn the clock to 2024! And with Richard Pace’s depiction here, my 23rd new artist added to the collection in ’23! Picked this up from fellow collector bud, JD, during one of his Amateur During Dealers shows – thanks, man. The scratchy line work just flat out works for this fellow. I thought that immediately, and the combo of said linework with him looking down at the viewer (cool lighting effect with source coming from the right), claws unsheathed, all adds up to this little guy cutting an imposing figure. And mayhaps cuttin’ a little rug prior to the Brotherhood or Hellfire Club showing up?! The best there is at what he does…lookin’ dapperly hardcore. Fitted white button up, glistening claws :) Social/Sharing |

This came out beautifully! The scratchy lines match the long experience of Wolverine's life, years spent being the best there is, and the negative space claws show that they are still shiny sharp and always ready to do some damage. Love it!

Hadn't thought of that at all, M, and I like the take! Thanks, man, and all, for the comments!

Great Wolverine with a powerful stance, ready to rumble but still a bit relaxed.

A lower angle always makes for a more dynamic and imposing composition. This is really nice. Wolverine looks solid and ready to rumble.

Richard pace has come so far as an artist since he first broke in as a pro, and this scratchy style has very strong eye appeal. I think it suits Logan's character especially well! Congrats on 23 in 23!

Nice! There was a Sabretooth with the same pose that would go nicely with this on Cadence but think it has sold.

The inks are moving
But Logan’s standing still
The claws out pages
Waiting to be thrilled
The art that's hopeful
X-Men that's full of dreams
But it’s becoming
This hard ass Wolverine
Feels like
I'm looking for a reason
Scratching through the lines to find
My Pace in this world
My Pace in this world
Not a lot to lean on
I need your lines to help me find
My Pace in this world
My Pace in this world

Stellar composition, but what keeps my eyes glued to this is the inking. It seems like one of those pieces where I wouldn't be able to decide which I liked better, being up close to marvel in all the details or to zoom out to see how they add up to give depth and definition.

Nice observation, Kevin! Why either/or?! Lucky we don't have to. Just go back and forth, take in both views :) Thanks for the add, man!

Love the texture of the inks and pose! The way the lighting is inked around the head is top notch.
