That's a creative way to show the leader addressing the lineup. Great page!
Want Gim Allon in your corner?
Dawnstar, Karate?
What's all these Brainy Saturns they're Staton me?
This is the craziest party that could ever be
Don't turn off the lights 'cause Anniversary
Mama told me no Legion

I think I'm almost Phantom from the smell of Timber Wolf
And that Element you're smokin' Blok scares me half to death
Open up Colossal, mother, let me catch my breath
Mama told me no Legion
Mama told me no Legion
That ain't the way to Staton, son
That ain't the way three hundred, son (oh, yeah!)
I had a feeling you might go after this! Congrats on landing it, it's awesome. Who doesn't love the 100th, 200th, 30th, etc. anniversary issues?
What a great Legion splash page! I always enjoyed the meeting scenes where you get to see a lot of characters at once.
Super fun splash page to the Legion of Super-Heroes 300! Classic art by Joe Staton and Dick Giodano really captures the look of the Legion. Funny to see the Legionaires reduced to bickering over politics in the Legion Headquarters. I love the model spacecraft hanging from the ceiling and the statue of one of their enemies looming over them with a blaster in his hand. Great pick-up, congrats!
Huge and historic! Congrats Miki!
I have fond memories of this issue. Breaking it up into small chapters honoring different artists was a good idea; JLA #200 did the same a year earlier. This "team threatened with government suspension" shot reminds me of George Perez' cover for Avengers #181. Staton ensures that every character gets his own body languge. Lightning Lad's dramatically wide stance takes a page from "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way."
LOL...this is officially the best-ever LSH page featuring Karate Kid! Check out his indifferent "staring into space" pose! :-)
