Description

"The Rejection" is my 8th horror short story. I have always been fascinated with what makes a person "snap." At what point is "enough is enough" and the proverbial "straw" breaks a camel's back. For example, two individuals facing the same pressure and stress will make vastly different, and sometimes deadly, choices. Is there a little of that in each of us? What are our limits? This story briefly touches on that idea. The central character, Henry, is eventually pushed to his breaking point! Admittedly, parts of the story are autobiographical. But in my defense, Mark Twain said, “Write what you know.” I originally started the pencils on this story two years ago. I never liked that it was left unfinished until now. Enjoy!

Notes:
1) Page 1, panel 2, features many of my favorite childhood toys, some of which I still have!
2) The large panel on page 3 is based on the cover of Tales from the Crypt #38 (1953).
