Description

A fantastic page from Matt Wagner's Mage: The Hero Discovered #3, page 2.

The grey-line consists of an acetate overlay of the pencil and ink page and a separate board containing a grey-line reproduction of the original page; Matt Wagner hand-colored the grey-line himself using watercolors and airbrush, the two techniques he used in this book, and has signed the piece. The original grey-line is done on a board that measures approx. 8" x 11 /12" with an image area that is approx. that of the published comic book.

I've included an additional pic of the hand-colored artwork as well to show off the detailed work. Matt used different paper for these first issues which accounts for the bolder color as compared to later issues in this series.
