Triplicate Girl Sketch Card by Fred Hembeck

The animated Legion of Super-Heroes series which came out in 2006 has always occupied a huge place in my heart. I'd read lots of Legion comics prior to discovering the cartoon, but it was that show which really cemented the Legion as my favourite superhero team. Without its influence, it's doubtful that I'd be collecting comic art at all today...

...so when I saw that Fred Hembeck was drawing sketch cards featuring the Legionnaires with their animated-series designs, I gave a heartfelt apology to my wallet and got to bidding.

I've been following Hembeck's listings for a few years now, and I've never seen him do sketch cards for the animated Legion characters, before, so I knew I had to seize my chance while I could! The first of the bunch was this Triplicate Girl, and as always I'm just delighted by how faithfully Hembeck captured her design, while also slightly changing his style to incorporate more of the cartoon's style.
