Description

Damon Owens, my most-prolific and only exclusive client, returns to the Bob Almond commissions gallery with another entry from his "End of days: Omniverse"-themed gallery, this time pitting the heroes of the defunct Malibu Comics universe, The Protectors, against one of Thanos' death squad, Corvus Glade and his legions. It's my 2nd Protectors commission, the last one being by Luke McDonnell for July 27, 2015 on my Bob Almond Inkwell site Gallery section of earlier commissions.

Roll call for the team in the bottom panel are (L-R) Ferret, the Witch, Eternal Man, Gravestone, Man of War, Amazing Man, Airman and Aura.

This is my first time inking Dean Kotz. It was challenging because it has a sketchiness to it where a lot of seemingly superfluous lines are part of his rendering style so it took me a bit to organize them with the appropriate weighted lines. I inked it with markers and used a correction pen in the middle panel to enhance the smokey mist spreading out upon their landing and march. It was inked over the original pencils on 11"x17" 2-ply Bristol board. This is my 106th commission Damon and I completed it on August 30, 2021.
