DescriptionPublished 1979Wheel of Fortune written by Bill Kelley Joyce Anson is troubled about a cult and finds herself in Madame Xanadu's shop. This is an early appearance of Madame Xanadu who first appeared in Doorway to Nightmare #1 in 1978. After five issues, the series was cancelled during the DC implosion and Madame Xanadu appeared in Unexpected 190 and then 192. Also this story was penciled by Romeo Tanghal who is mostly known as an inker. But as can be seen on this page, he was a very good penciller, ably enhanced by Dave Hunt. There are indeed some lovely images of both Madame Xanadu and Joyce. Social/Sharing |

A wild Xanadu is stunned
So sure I could need some fun
Madame always sitting down with Joyce here
Now as you're mystically
My art is reminding me
That now I could never beat Xanadu
But how Tanghal love succeeds?
A miracle is Hunt we need
And so it appeals to you
To keep these unexpected lines fortune
Don't let this comment die
I get a feeling with Xanadu
None of the rules apply
Romeo for certain
Goodbye is a crime
So love fortune wheel me
Suspend forty five

Ah, you picked this one up, eh? Now we both own a page from Madam Xanadu's 7th appearance featuring the 1st appearance of Joyce Anson! Apparently we're BOTH multi-millionaires now!
