Superman vs. Wonder Woman
written by Gerry Conway
Set during World War II

Superman confronts Wonder Woman when she determines that she has to prevent the building of the atomic bomb. Unfortunately while they fight the enemy will steal components of the bomb.

This the first page by José that I ever bought. Way back in the good old days of eBay. Unfortunately the Post Office took the 'Do not bend' as a challenge rather than a prohibition and I was not pleased with the result. The seller was very contrite and offered a full refund if I returned the page, but once I had it I could not let it go. Now I have made a lot of mistakes in my early art collecting years but I got it right on this one.
I just love the perspective and view changes from these two panels.
Here comes Superman...
There goes Superman..

Such a great page. Wonderwoman is hitting Supes so hard he's back in the previous panel!

It's a breathtaking image of the powerhouse princess of peace, Wonder Woman.  Great angles for the action. Very sad that it was damaged in shipping.  I recently had art shipped to me bent deeply in half.  When I send you the Supergirl art there'll be an unbendable board as backing.

The only packages that my local post office ever delivered bent were the ones marked "do not bend." I came to believe it was intentional and now I never mark it on packages I send out.

Miki, this page is still beyond awesome, even with the damage.

Page swiftly post to home
I'm dreaming Wonder
She's seeing Super fly
Swing motion he stirs
Home run he's gone
The drive is long
And I am left while we fear bomb

Do not bend and I would cry
About post
Do you know what it feels like
Seeing art broke?
A crime no one knew

Swing, swing, swing from the angles of
My art is crushed by a Wonder love
Can you help me find a page
To carry art again

Great page, great collecting story. The damage is not obvious.

It is one of, if not the best page in the book. It stinks that it got damaged, but I think you made the right decision in keeping it.

Absolutely stunning, Miki!  Sorry this page was bent in transit, but it seems to be fully intact, so happy for that.  And you just can't go worng with a Garcia-Lopez action page.  Jose is a master of storytelling, composition and dynamic figure drawing!  Congrats on a great piece!

One of the absolute best pages in a book FULL of great pages. I'm glad you didn't return it, too! What a gem!
