You can't tell if these are either mites or tites as the camera could be looking down or looking up at Hawkman! The feathery inks by Alcala are unmatched!
Pretty much the best, most feathery wings in the character's long history!
(I know there's a mnemonic for them... hope they hold on tight? Hope they hold on with all their might? Clearly not too effective...)
Stalactite has a c for ceiling
stalagmite has a g for ground
Way better than the one I learned in the 70's!
Stunner of a page!!!
Plenty of wall power happening here!
This one might have to go up on the wall. :)
Memorable splash from the series, which was also a favorite of mine back in the day. Alcala is such a heavy inker, for better or worse, but definitely for the better on this book.He really adds so much great texture on this page and to Howell's pencils in general.
That's a beauty! And absolutely agree about the Alcala inks.
Excellent depiction of the character both visually and how he thinks. Big congrats!
Alfredo was on fire that day! What a page.
This has got to be the best page of the entire series.
I don't think Howell has ever drawn a better image of Hawkman and those Alcala inks on top, make for a winning combination.
Congrats on adding this beauty to one of the best Hawkman collections on CAF!
