DescriptionI knew I wanted this piece before I even saw the art, that’s how fun I knew this pairing of artist & subject matter was going to be! The original Planet of the Apes films remain to this day a personal favorite. I also enjoy the current batch of Apes films but the classics will always win out simply because I have loved them longer and there is an undeniable charm to them for me!This series serves as Marvel’s first visit to the classics apes timeline after reacquiring the rights to the property through their purchase of 20th Century Fox films. The title of the series is a great nod back to the memorable quote from the original film that began with “Beware the beast man..” This image is a comedic visualization of that very quote from The Sacred Scolls, essentially the Apes religious texts. Here they are clearly taken aback by a beast man who speaks! A perfect franchise encapsulating image on Skottie’s first (currently only) Planet of the Apes cover! Thanks to Megan & Skottie for helping me add this to my damn dirty Apes loving collection! If at all interested, I filmed an unboxing video when this one arrived in the mail. Just like in the movie, a hairy chested and sweaty Taylor is a lot more dirty than the apes.

Skottie brings the fun to the party as usual! Nice cover and enjoyed watching the unboxing vid the other day (other week? i cant keep track of time anymore).
