My first Splatt piece!!!

I've always had a fondness for the over the top Splatt art which I find is the epitome of the 90s. I mean, let’s be frank, in terms of pure art and storytelling, Platt’s art should be in the same infamous category as Liefeld’s meaning “despised” by the majority of (“enlightened”) collectors. But for a strange reason, it’s not and enjoy quite the cult status. The fact that he produced so little in his career is probably a reason, his truly overnight super star status another and the sheer amount of insane detail he infused his art with the last as many collectors seem to love that aspect in their original art and consider it a proof of quality.

Also very 90s were those great trading cards sets featuring exclusive art by the artists we love (Hi Eric) and this pin up comes one of such sets namely the Prophet TC set.
