I’ve been wanting one of Caia Koopman’s beautiful pieces for years but just hadn’t found quite the right piece for me. Well back in May Caia shared a work in progress video for this piece and I was immediately smitten and knew I had to try to add her to my collection. At the time all I knew was that the piece was for a show in Seattle later in the summer so I patiently waited for more information. I soon found out that she was going to be in the A Little Vacation group show at Ergo Gallery in mid June. At the end of May Caia shared a story with the completed piece and said to contact Ergo Gallery if interested so I immediately emailed inquiring about the piece and within an hour had purchased her.

Some pieces you simply love at first sight and for me this was one of them. As Caia put it she is a petite femme with a grievance or two which is honestly the best description for her. You can just tell she is a strong independent lady who is going to cause some good trouble in the world. When Caia shared the finished piece she said she’s sending her off into the big world in hopes that she’ll finish her law degree and fight for human rights. That is definitely the right kind of trouble for her to be getting into.

I simply love her and everything about her. She’s bold with her cute short magenta pixie cut but also professional in her patriotic button up. Love the lucky ladybug sitting above her shoulder and that vibrant pop of red and neon green she used in the background. One of the most attention grabbing pieces I own but you can tell this gal is all about showing off and letting her presence be know to the world. Thrilled to have this stunning piece by Caia in my collection. Well worth the wait.
