Description

We already knew that (according to this story) Klara had a liaison with an Austrian prince. Now we see that her husband has been unfaithful too, as he kisses another woman in the street:

“Braunau am Inn, Austria, October 1888.”

“It's better for you to go. We're already taking a big risk, right here in front of my house.”

“Mmm, it will be an opportunity to meet your wife, then...”

“Stop talking nonsense, and don't make me angry! Get going!”

“Mamma mia, what a temper...”

(To the mailman) “Hey, you!”

“Huh? Oh, good evening.”

“Is there anything for me?”

“No, but there is this letter for your wife.” (Sealed with a big “R” for Prince Rudolf, her former employer and lover)

“For...my wife? Give it here! That seal...it's him! No, I have to calm down! Let's read... Damn you! Damn you both!”

Given that Klara was working hours from home as a household servant, I'm surprised to find her husband dressing like a gentleman, able to afford a reasonably stylish mistress. Alois Hitler was a customs agent, and Sforza renders him accurately.
