Description(As the neo-Nazis prepare for large-scale arson at the monastery, a woman appears with an AK-47. One of the Nazis cries “No!” as the sounds of automatic gunfire fill the halls.) “Hmmm... I gave orders not to shoot unless absolutely necessary. Let's go see.” “Put down your weapons!” “But... but how...” “The Red Army has already defeated you once, and if you thought you were only dealing with elderly, overweight monks, I fear you have not taken our novices into account. They repudiate weapons, but the fellow citizens they have called, unfortunately for you, do not.” I initially thought the woman with a machine gun was somehow Renate, because of the short hair. But the dialogue clarifies that it's a member of a local Russian militia. I'm not sure how this group fits within Russian gun control laws, which are rather strict. Is it hypocritical for the monks to repudiate weapons" but then call others to use weapons on their behalf? Many of the panels here at the end of the book lack backgrounds, probably a result of a rush to complete this huge story on schedule. The previous action scenes still had full backgrounds.
