Description

This penultimate chapter of the Phalanx Covenant X-event took 38 pages to tell, with both Mark Farmer and Joe Rubinstein credited as inkers for Adam Kubert's pencils. However, the back of the page says �pencils and inks by Adam Kubert.� Adam confirmed to me at OAX 2025 that the project was running late, so he inked this page himself rather than send it to Rubinstein.

On this page, the plans of Stephen Lang and Cameron Hodge for Muir Island have been foiled, and both the heroes and villains are preparing for a final showdown on Mount Everest.

The heavily stylized work of the Image Comics group was still making its presence known across the industry, as seen in these images of an Eastwood-looking Logan with outrageous hair that would never fit inside his cowl.

Energetic page layouts were also the rule, as seen here with the overlapping three middle panels, with a large black box behind them and a thin vertical panel showing a sliver of Logan's face in dramatic lighting. Cable's left cheek gets a pasted-on art correction. He swats away Jean's hand rather than accept solace for his wounds. The panels with the cabin and cockpit interior have full backgrounds.

Great page. I loved this X-over, so that bottom panel is a winner for me.

This page has the X-Fans buzzing! Wolverine with the guest stars for this X-Men crossover event made it a must buy comic and it's vintage art coming out of the vault after 30 years made this must buy from Adam Kubert.
