DescriptionGreat pencil work by Eddy (graphite and red). DC would have been fine printing this directly from the pencils as the inking didn't add anything to the work and may have even had less detail (see additional image). The cross hatching in Superman's face is superb. I especially like the light flare coming from Superman's eye. Looks like it was accomplished by just using an eraser and ruler. And bonus,,, Lois Lane and Jimmy are depicted in panel #3,Social/Sharing |

Eddy absolutely nailed this!
I agree. Definitely the nicest pencil page I have from him.

Probably my favourite contemporary superhero artist. I really wanted this one as you already know, but so happy a friend beat me to it. It is an absolutely outstanding work of art!

There were so many nice pages from that issue but when I saw this one I knew I had to have it. You know I'll take care of just like you would have.

An absolutely -incendiary- image of the Man of Steel by Eddy Barrows! Eddy leans into such a classic look and feel for his Superman (from the smaller, darker background "S" shield and "no frills" costume to the crowning acievement: that INSANELY AWESOME spit curl there... :) ). and the result is gorgeously rendered piece that showcases a timeless Man of Tomorrow. WOW - love this!! Congrats on the great grab, Lee!

Thanks Jason! And kudos for pointing out the curl. Definitely one of the more subliminal identifiers. When it's missing in other interpretations, it really doesn't look as authentic.
