Description

In 1922 Sunshine the African-American jockey was introduced to DeBECK'S strip. Typical for the times, Sunshine was a stereotypical drawn black person, speaking in ebonics. Yet he played an important role as "Sparky's permanent rider. Song by Billy Rose and Con Conrad and published by Waterson, Berlin & Snyder Co., New York.
