DescriptionThis is a commission piece that was done by BOB LAYTON for me. It is a piece based on the GIANT SIZED X-MEN #1 cover by Gil Kane and Dave Cockrum that featured the 1st appearance of the NEW X-MEN back in 1975. This features on the top from Left to Right... PSYLOCKE, KITTY PRYDE (Shadowcat), THE DAZZLER, and JEAN GREY (Marvel Girl). Coming out of the cover are the mutants who were or are at one time villians and nemesis of the X-Men but also were members or allies... and in this cover they're the GIRLS GONE WILD and the characters from Left to Right (clockwise) are... MYSTIQUE, DARK PHOENIX (Jean Grey), POLARIS (Lorna Dane, Magneto's Daughter in her 1960's costume from her 1st appearance in X-Men #50 by Jim Steranko), X-23 (Wolverine's Daugher), and in the center is EMMA FROST THE WHITE QUEEN. This is a full sized 11" x 17" piece created by BOB LAYTON in OCTOBER 2006 based on a concept I requested that he executed flawlessly. Bob Layton is one of the all time best comic book artists who is the best artist who ever drew IRON MAN and is a very fan friendly artist whose portfolio of work is simply AWESOME... check out www.boblayton.com I also have two prelims showing the evolution and creation of this piece in my gallery.Social/Sharing |
