Description

Earlier this year we lost a legend in Ramona Fradon, a pioneer when it comes to women in the comics industry. Her career had staying power that spanned 8 decades. EIGHT DECADES. She found success in both monthly comics and in the newspaper dailies. She produced countless beautiful private commissions. She raised a daughter, wrote multiple books, loved fixing up houses, loved animals & a nice cold beer. She championed social & political causes important to her and by all accounts lead a very full life.

This Metamorpho piece was created for her local Democratic Committee in 2020 to help turn out the votes locally.

After leading that full life, in her final days, she did have some regrets. One such regret was that she was not going to be able to vote in the 2024 Presidential election.

After all of her well lived 96 years, she really wanted to do her civic duty just one more time. It was that important to her.

Think about that. Let that sink in.

Vote tomorrow in honor of Ramona Fradon.

fantastic piece, Ramona was one of the best. I got my vote in nice and early - it's easier than it ever has been, at least around me.

A wise woman in the 90's once said, "Stop the Insanity!" A wise woman in her 90's said, "Vote!" Both messages that still resonate today and especially on Election Day.

So shameful that millions of Metamorphos who voted 4 years ago stayed home this time. I'm glad Ramona isn't around to have seen this.
