DescriptionDOOMSDAY CLOCK = WATCHMEN crossover with DC UNIVERSEOutside all of the X universe material, WATCHMEN was a series I thoroughly enjoyed. Getting any of the original art is outside my realm, so when this series came out (which I also enjoyed as part of this universe, coming out nearly 33 years later) it was a great opportunity to get something to represent my love for that bigger universe. This series shockingly revealed that the WATCHMEN and DC Universe were connected. This page from the last issue, revealing how Superman is reborn for various generations. The top panels show various generations/realities of Superman’s origins. With the following panels showing how Superman was the bridge used between generations to keep peace. Various panels of Doctor Manhattan, Lois Lane, Justice Society of America (with Wonder Woman and Triplicate Girl), Ozymandias, Batman and even Bubastis, showcasing a bunch of characters from both worlds sharing a page. Gary Franks’s beautifully detailed art with Geoff John’s very unique storytelling made a great collaboration, putting these two worlds together made this absolute gold. Funny enough, all my Gary Frank art seems to deal with world’s colliding and fun crossovers. I’ve been fortunate to do a lot of cinematic work in the DC Universe (5 movies featuring Superman, along with lots of other Superheroes) and have worked a bunch with the creative team behind the gorgeous WATCHMEN movie. This page finally gives me some art in my collection that features these characters that I’ve grown up enjoying and some that I’ve had a career working with. Social/Sharing |

It's like every panel has a bit of illustration magic! They do look like storyboards here with so many characters presented on one page.

really great storytelling and imagery on this page! I quite liked Doomsday Clock as a follow up to Watchmen, and it's definately still reasonable as far as art value compared to the main Watchmen run. And it's awesome on getting a piece that recalls other work you've done in your career, that definately must be special. Congrats and happy thanksgiving

Your description clearly neglects the importance of Adrians cat. 'Even' indeed. Lol. I mean he's the most important thing on the page. Panel 10 for this cat fan. I did a trade to get two Doomsday Clock cat pages.

You are 100% correct that Bubastis makes the page. That lower right panel is so purrrrrfectly done and cat hardly believe I left out meow descriptions and cattention to what was so purrrrrely deserved.

Wonderful page from Doomsday Clock. I love the opening three panels telling similar--but different--versions of the same story. I love how the story unfolds on this page. Great art by Gary Frank. It was fun seeing him draw characters like Doctor Manhattan and Ozymandias. I enjoyed the whole storyline of the Doomsday Clock series and this is one of the best pages from it. Fantastic pick-up, congrats.
