Description

Posting this artwork to commemorate the New YorK Mets re-signing of first baseman Pete Alonso. This 8-page comic book was given away at the Mets game on August 12, 2021 (with a matching bobblehead given away the next day). I was able to purchase the original ink art to the entire book including the cover (which you can see in this same gallery). This is the blueline ink art by Wayne Faucher based on the pencil artwork of Scot Eaton.

This is a very accurate looking portrait of Pete Alonso that I'm assuming was probably a character design or a practice drawing. Based on the minimally inked image on the back, it looks like this started out with a blueline photo of Pete, which is probably why the portrait looks so good. I don't believe this image was published anywhere.
