Description

Thanks to Monty B. for this outstanding early Garfield strip. I remember this one fondly from the early days of Garfield when I was a kid. We all have childhood objects (blankets, dolls, toys) that meant a lot to us. I just love the simplicity of this strip and the fact that it's silent intention says it all.

Jim Davis Garfield Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-17-80 (United Feature Syndicate, 1980). Garfield enjoys a "guilty pleasure," but only when the coast is clear! This sweet early daily was created in ink and Zipatone over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 14" x 4". Slight toning, some discoloration to Zipatone and paste-up syndication strip, and light smudging; otherwise, in Excellent condition. Includes a fine-line marker preliminary and a PAWS Certificate of Authenticity.

I love Garfield! I picked up a couple myself recently... This one is a classic, and the fact that you got the prelime is awesome!
