Description

One of the most unique and probably hardest-to-get illustrations I own. I was a big fan of the BROTHER MAN comics released in the early 1990s by Big City Comics, and I particularly loved the artwork by Dawud Anyabwile. I still have most of the comics, but Dawud moved on to other things and is now directing animation. We ran into each other back in 2008 when he made a rare appearance at an art event, and I was excited to catch up with him since we hadn�t seen each other since the old Dallas Fantasy Fair days. I asked him if he�d be willing to do a sketch, and he was kind enough to oblige, delivering this self portrait, what I believe was the only sketch he did that night. So very cool, and means a lot to me as a fan of the comic. If you can find BROTHER MAN comics out there, grab them� they�re awesome.
