A late 70's era Conan cover that promised adventure and drama with John Buscema's dynamic action composition. The issues with Belit are always popular as many saw the spark it gave John Buscema when drawing the female form. In turn, the art for Conan also reached new highs with pure classical figurework.
Absolute big John touchdown !
Congrats Joshua. Probably one of, if not, the best Conan the Barbarian cover by Big John.
He's one of the GOATs! Congratulations on this!!
The hits keep coming! The rats may not survive the night, but Conan's battle with the plague will soon begin.
Rats! Big rats!
Sweet cover!
INCONCEIVABLE!
CLASSIC!
Rodents of unusual size!
That's so beautiful. Peak period cover!
My moneys on the rat monsters to win in this fight!
Not surprising to me. John's art can have that effect on people. Great pure cover with pencils & inks by this legendary Master.
It doesn't get any better than this--congratulations!
Amazing!
John inking John on Conan. Nothing better!!
Gorgeous Joshua! Congrats!
I love this. Entire Buscema Conan run was amazing.
One of my favorite Buscema Conan covers. Congrats Josh!!!! 8 )
John doing his favorite character at the peak of his career inking his own work. You're not going to get better than that. Congrats!
Great cover, and special to see Big John inking himself during that era as it happened rarely; but as can be seen in the gorgeous linework on this cover, I've always felt that he was one of his own best inkers. Congrats!
Fabulous Conan cover by the great John Buscema! It's interesting how John wasn't the first artist on Conan, but he's the artist most people remember when they think of Conan. This is a great example of his work on the title. This time, instead of battling a monstrous supernatural beastie, he's battling all these viscious swamp rats. Love how one rat is attacking him from behind while he's swinging his sword at another one. And it's allways nice to see Belit on the cover--She was one of John's great female leads! Stunning addition to your collection, congrats!
Superbe couverture de CONAN ! , incredible .
