Black Flash by Maria Wolf, on The Flash sketch cover

I’ve been a fan of Maria’s work for a bit. There’s something about her cartoony style and line work, which I particularly enjoy. From seeing her work here on CAF, DC’s ape covers and some of her monster work. So it was an easy choice for me for a monster, the embodiment of death for speeders, the Black Flash.

Got this sketch cover done at PCKC 2025. She was great to talk with and she told me sometimes she doesn’t know when to stop working a sketch. Never satisfied, she’d continue working on it. Which is exactly what she would do for this sketch, still adding details, while I was trying to pay for it
