Description

Two weeks ago, our friendly neighborhood UPS man delivered a small box containing some art. Among the pieces was this one by Virgil Finlay, from Startling Stories Summer 1954, illustrating "The Spiral of the Ages" by Fletcher Pratt. One of the things that makes this piece particularly cool to me is that roughly 32 years ago, in his Winter 1993 art sale catalog, my friend Bob Weinberg sold this piece. I don't know who bought it back then, but I'm glad to have acquired it now!

Pure Finlay mastery of illustration and stipple work. All hand done to amaze us in the level of dedication he poured into the textures of these pieces that are amongst the most prized.

That friendly neighborhood UPS man is still on my naughty list. The guy is too lazy to travel thousand of miles to leave me something this nice. Some people. Lol. No commitment to international aid.
