Description

Fun little sketchbook page where the master was practicing his craft. I've always wanted some good examples of his large cats - because he was an absolute master at drawing felines - and I think this is a wonderful example of how he created these wonderful beasts. The anatomical studies are another interesting insight into the artist's mind. Art at his level mastery requires practice. This is true with all the greats. In fact, I recently had the pleasure of going to a Michelangelo exhibit on his work for the Sistine Chapel. One of the pieces hanging in the museum reminded me A LOT of this Frazetta piece, where Michelangelo sketched different parts of the human body to ensure his final work would be exactly as it was meant to be. For fun, I'll include that piece here for comparison.

Nice full page of sketches with Frazetta signature initials. Some pages actually got cut up into smaller pieces by dealers to sell.
