Pat Mills and John Wagner were thinking about an idea for a character that I could draw that we could retain the ownership on.. Basically Sister Mercy was a female Judge Dredd operating, not in a neo fascist futuristic megalopolis but in a neo-fascist theocratic futuristic megalopolis. She was going to be a nun that you don’t wanna mess with. I came up with the design. John said she only looked half dressed. He was right, of course. This was as far as we got.
