Description

Twelfth in the series - just imagine that, in 1960, Martin Goodman decides that comics have no future and closes Marvel down, forcing Lee and Kirby to seek work at National. And what if, after a couple of years producing back-up science fiction, war and romance stories for DC's anthologies, editor Murray Boltinoff (unsatisfied with the initial submission from Arnold Drake and Bruno Premiani) asks Stan and Jack to see if they can do anything with the idea of the Doom Patrol?

This time: with the Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814 and his fellow heroes of the Justice League Of America battling a cosmic threat in a different dimension, the Guardians Of The Universe must seek out new allies on Earth to help protect the planet - and, aware of the Doom Patrol's role in rescuing the shrunken Midway City from Brainiac (as seen in My Greatest Adventure #85), they turn to the DP as agents to confront the threat of Garguax, transporting the team to his starship orbiting Jupiter. Can the Doom Patrol defeat the alien menace? Find out - inside!

It's beautiful with both the cosmic side of the universe shown and the street based heroes showing scale and perspective of the story.
