Donatello & Mr. Ogg, "Mister Ogg Goes to Town", Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) animation cel

Here's another matted cel featuring two characters from the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles classic cartoon series' third season episode "Mister Ogg Goes to Town." For years, I found it to be one of the series' most annoying episodes, but credit to IDW for working Ogg back into the continuity of the franchise!

This cel features Donatello and Mr. Ogg alongside Donatello's portable Trans-Dimensional Portal. This matted set likely shows at least two layers of painted acetate cel layered over a background print. When comparing it to the finished animation frames, Ogg reaches the frame seen here about one second before Donatello reaches his specified frame. In this case, the the supplied background differs with the original episode context, making it look like the characters are inside a scientific lab or technological control room.

These cels were sold framed in mats and protective plastic sleeves at various toy and department stores throughout the early 1990s under the "Animation Art" label. This cel was scanned inside the sealed plastic sleeve, so the image clarity suffers a bit. Also attached are two screencaps from the VUDU digital copy, showing the approximate cels in their final form around the 19 minute, 39 and 40 second marks.
