Description
The second of two penciled pages I acquired on ebay in 2004, featuring Happy the Clown and Tillie the Elephant. Known as "Happy Clown," the character was the mascot and lead feature in Harvey's "Clown Comics," which ran 3 issues in 1946. Art was apparently supplied by Jason Comic Art Studios, but the individual artist is unknown. The style doesn't seem to be exactly the same as the art in the published Happy Clown stories, however, the pencil work is quite beautiful in a rounded, "Disney-esque" manner, and I enjoy the rare glimpse at Golden Age (I assume) pencils.

Happy Clown also appeared in many issues of Harvey's "Little Max," but tended to be one-pagers and activity pages. If anyone knows anything more about this feature, please let me know.
