DescriptionExtremity was where I first discovered Dan's work back in 2017. I saw a preview online for Issue 1 and immediately made a note to add it to my pull list. And there began the love affair with the work of the juggernaut now simply known as DWJ. While he keeps churning out bigger and badder hits, I'm still sentimentally attached to Thea's story.The cover itself is classic Dan in both the process and finished product. He didn't like his first attempt at Thea so he whited it out and drew on a revision via a paste up patch. On the published cover, it's obvious they resized the figure to fit the composition better at printed scale. Adding another dimension to this purchase is I reached out to Felix to see if he had any backstory to the process for the cover. It turned out my timing was impeccable because this led to a joint phone call with both Felix and Dan and me picking Dan's brain about the cover. Some days, this hobby can't be rivalled for cool moments. Love getting to add this into the collection! Social/Sharing |

Awesome piece; awesome story. Extremity was also my first experience with DWJ. At the time I was trying to be more selective in what I read and this book didn't grab me with a #1 so I didn't read any further, but some friends told me how good it was so I picked it back up and I'm glad I did!

Sweet early DWJ cover work from a seminal series in his trajectory as a top artist and creator! Congrats on the great addition, and on a fun conference call experience to learn more about it (I realize the words fun and conference call are rarely ever discussed together so when in Rome...)

Like you, Extremity is my first DWJ experience and had me hooked. Still my favourite of his works, maybe because it was my first. Congrats on a fine Thea cover!

Extremity remains DWJ's best effort to date IMHO so congrats on getting this great tribute of a cover.

Very cool art and great that it meant something to you to begin with and now even more with the personal interaction attached to it. In addition to the actual art, each page has its own story and journey and that is one of the great things with collecting art, you get to know and sometimes be part of that story/journey.

This is a fantastic pic up, and thanks for the nice big scan. The pic on ebay was just too small. I love seeing all that cut and paste process, and what a great story, being able to get DWJ on the phone. Talk about serindipity! Congrats.
