It's a pretty fun color with a lot of depth to it and some really nice brick work. It's a shame it wasn't used. 

Hoover was a seriously underrated artist,

Wow, cool up close composition on Cap and some great background elements. Def would imagine they tried repurposing it for a variant cover, hope you find a published image if that is the case but either way it's a nice Hoover piece. 

This version is WAY better than the pubished cover. Congratulations!

There's a lot of detail behind where the logo would have gone, so interesting to see all of that. Snarling Cap face.

Dave Hoover did great work during his Cap run, but it was drawing Free Spirit and Diamondback where he truely shined. They messed up big time not using this over the published final.
